Since graduating from WAAPA in 1989, Rodney has carved out a career in the Australian theatre industry earning him a reputation as one of the most consistently working musical theatre performers in the business, with a list of impressive credits spanning 30 years. Most recently, Rodney played Amos Hart in the 2019/20 tour of the critically acclaimed Chicago, receiving rave reviews for his Mr Cellophane.

Rodney’s innumerable professional credits include Evita starring Tina Arena (Opera Australia/ John Frost), Professor Callahan in Legally Blonde (Packemin Productions), Charlie in Dream Lover: The Bobby Darin Musical (GFO), My Fair Lady directed by Dame Julie Andrews (Opera Australia/ John Frost), Roscoe Dexter in the Australian tour of Singin’ in the Rain, the Bishop of Digne and Thenardier in the 25th anniversary production of Les Misérables, and as Dr Dillamond in the original Australian cast of Wicked. He has also starred in Annie (Packemin Productions), Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, the world premiere of Moonshadow, Company (Kookaburra), Rosie, The Full Monty, Sweeney Todd (Opera Australia), Twelfth Night (Belvoir), Buddy, Jolson, Les Misérables 10th anniversary production, Sunset Boulevard, Nathaniel Storm, Miss Saigon, Miss Julie (STC), South Pacific, Aspects of Love, Return to the Forbidden Planet and the 1990 original Australian cast of Chess, shortly after he graduated.

Rodney received a Green Room Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor in an Opera for Tobias in Sweeney Todd, and a Helpmann Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Musical for Dave in The Full Monty. He been an Actors Equity member since 1989.
